No snow, ice, or below freezing temperatures would stop us from shooting. This weekend we shot my former Art teacher's wedding in the Adirondacks.

We bundled up, snapped on our snow shoes and treaded out to a beautiful ice covered lake where they were wed.

This wedding was very special to me as she was the teacher who inspired me to become a photographer and believed in me and pushed my creativity.

This happy couple is the prime example of what we have to offer at Photographics Solution for engagement sessions.

The Hudson Valley offers a lot of beautiful locations for outdoor shoots. After a fun creative shoot in the studio, we went off premise to the icy Hudson riverfront by the lighthouse, a historical landmark.

Whether its snowy or sunny it's a great place for a shoot.

I've had this idea of spelling LOVE out with hands for a long time and finally decided to put it to use! It is a creative way for engaged couples to make their own art come out in photos. I am excited to bring this idea to future couples.

Luke and Nancy wanted to include their furry friends in their engagement session, which makes for great photos.

They also brought in a picture of Luke's parents and posed gracefully to reenact the exact pose.

After enjoying their photo's and magnets of their kids and Santa this winter, this family scheduled a portrait session. The sisters, brothers and cousins were not camera shy at all and there glowing smiles showed in the photo's.

We had alot of fun getting some creative shots with all of them. They used the photo's for gifts for their grandparents and hope to schedule another session in the warmer weather.

Many of us say our Pets are like our children, and as you probably already know we are pet friendly here at Photographics Solution.

Being a huge dog lover to begin with while using skill and emotion we creatively capture the bond between an owner and pet.

We got some great shots with Lexi, the boxer below and her "Mom" Amanda, while we got Lexi to smile and look at the camera using some dog bones for attention.

Happy New Year everyone!

Today I proposed my sign dimensions and colors to the Historical Preservation of Hudson Commision to get my shop looking great. I honestly can't stand politics and debate but I'm pretty good at it, so after an hour in front of the board dicsussing signage laws and grandfather this-n-that, we came to the conclusion I can put up my logo on the preexisting pannel.

I still think it should have taken 3 minutes at most if they would have just looked at my sign compared to the previous tennant...

Family & Newborn portraits. As you can see, Keri had her baby. (see Maternity post here.) Ava Rose and her daddy Rick came this time for a great set of family portraits.

There is a learning curve to this business and today's lesson is to invest in a baby changing station. Ava turned my nice white sheets into rags in an instant if you know what I mean.

But it's all in a days work. Her shots came out great and that's all we can ask for.

Family & Newborn portraits. Sean & Shannon came in the studio late Wednesday night along with Savannah & Sean Patrick Delaney Jr. We all had a great time as long as I didn't bore Savannah to death or hold out on the Christmas cookies.

Sean Jr. was definitely a trooper allowing us to wrap him up like a baby tortilla and shoot tons of wonderful portraits.

Engagement shoot with Leeanna & Pete. Very excited to have my first portrait session in the new studio. They brought their dog Jerico along for the ride as well.

I find that so many couples these days want to include their pets during an engagement session and I totally get it. I even had my dog in my wedding!

I can't express the awesome feeling shooting in the studio, it's just so open and relaxed. We also decided to put together a "Save the Date" design for magnets too.

The 13th Annual Winter Walk - December 5th, 2009. We had a great time opening up our studio to the public for the very first time. It's been a lot of hard work these last ten days to really pull things together. If you want to see how it looked when we got it, check out my Facebook.

Photographics Solution is one of the 20 new business to this year's event. We loaded up about ten gallons of apple cider and 100 cups of coffee. Also hundreds of cookies, all for free to those who wanted some. The weather was a bit cold and damp but that just meant people wanted to come inside, which was good for us!

The studio will be finished in a couple weeks but we are already scheduling portraits and dates are filling up fast. There's still time to get those custom Christmas cards printed up.

Thanks again to everyone who helped out and visited. Nicole and I had a great time meeting a lot of new faces and we wish you all a Merry Christmas.

Making Miracles 2009. I was lucky enough to correspond with Catherine Lloyd from www.catalinaandco.com who's in charge of making this wonderful event come to light.

Had a blast shooting, eating & drinking at the Enigma. Big thank you to George Carrothers for letting us shoot in the soon to be VIP section.

Also my first time shooting with the new Canon 5DmkII (best camera out there!).

And last but not least thanks to Jay from www.hudsonvalleydj.com for keeping the music going and couples flowing to the photography area.

Two family portraits in one day. That's a first for me and I loved it. I just got into a groove early in the day and kept it running all day long.

In the moring, I headed off to the northeastern part of Columbia county to photograph John, Lisa, and their two wonderful dogs Kodiak & Buttercup.

Later that afternoon, I headed out to my brother's house to do their annual family portrait. My nephew is definitely in his terrible two's and this photo session was fast paced and the high winds didn't help. Almost lost an umbrella and flash.

Maternity portrait of expecting mother Keri.

We had a slow, relaxing shoot in the afternoon with instrumental spa music to set the mood and just got creative to take some of Ava Rose's first color portraits. I said color because I know some of you out there will say "Hey, those sonographic images count as pictures!"

I also used my Lensbaby for the first time in a portrait session. I can honestly say the name really suits the lens.

After the ceremony we headed down to The Copper Tree restaurant and celebrated like champions. I also got to use my new fish-eye lens and captured a great portfolio worthy photograph.

Here's Barney Lopilato's own words decribing his product:

"Our blankets are offered in black, white and grey tone and the brown tones. We do not do full color. The full color ones you see on the internet and at the One Hour photo services are usually the heavy tapestry blankets.

Our blankets are 100% acrylic and machine wash and tumble dry. You will see when I send you the sample that it is a very soft knit blanket. Our corporate logo or school logo blankets are up to 4 color combinations."

Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Roy & Nikki's marriage. Meeting up at Olana State Historic Site, we gathered some portraits in the same locations that they had photos taken on their wedding day.

Weather cleared up luckily for us on this mostly rainy day. I also had to fake some technical difficulties and kill some time so everyone could meet up and Blue Stores Resturant for their surprise dinner with friends & realatives from all over.
